At Jamberoo Anglican we do not rely on external grants, allowances or handouts towards the cost of ministry staffing.
Our church needs over $327,000 per year from gifts in order to continue our work of sharing the gospel with children, youth, families, adults, and seniors in Jamberoo and beyond.
Our offertory (along with our rental income from the former rectory) is used to cover all our expenditure: ministry staff salary, diocese administration, building utilities, giving to mission, building maintenance, scripture and children’s ministry materials.
Direct or electronic giving is a great method for regular gifts. This helps you plan your giving and means you don’t have to worry each week about forgetting.
Jesus taught us to give secretly in order to safeguard our sincerity (Matthew 6:1-4). So, if possible give anonymously. But don’t worry, the only person who sees our bank statements is our Treasurer.
Alternatively, you can choose to use cash to give by placing your gift in the secure giving box at the entrance to the church.
Under the Old Covenant in the Old Testament, God’s people gave at least ten percent of all their produce to God in response to his generous blessings to them. The tenth was called a ‘tithe’. When giving, God wanted generosity and cheerfulness. The ‘tithe’ was never meant to be legalistic or begrudging.
Under the New Covenant, we still give back to God in response to his generous blessings to us. Our giving is a “fragrant offering, and a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God’ (Philippians 4:18).
With these principles in mind, we encourage you to prayerfully give, for as we continue to remember, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Our progress so far
Each week we are aiming to receive $6300.00 in order to meet our giving target. In the last calendar month, our average weekly giving was $5882.00, leaving a gap of $418.00.
Up to the end of the last calendar month we needed to have received $245,700. Compared to that total we received $221,466, leaving a gap of $24,234.
How to partner with us in the ministry of our church
Electronic giving is a great way to give! It helps you prayerfully plan your partnership with us, and then the bank will help you keep that commitment, even when you may be unable to attend a weekly service.
