Church news for the week beginning 29th January 2023
OUR SERMON
This weekend we will be hearing from God’s word as Brad Vidilini preaches to us from 1 Peter Chapter 2:4-12 on ‘Living Stones’.
INTRODUCING SPARK
Our all-new midweek Kids’ ministry kicks off Friday 3rd February from 4:30-6pm and then each week in the hall during term time. It’s for Year 3 to 6 kids, and it’s a space where older primary children can explore the Bible, and start or grow a relationship with Jesus.
CANDIDATE’S FORUM
Our church is hosting a Candidate’s Forum for the seat of Kiama. Join us to hear from the major candidates for the 2023 NSW Election speaking on issues important to the Christian community, and answering your questions. Tuesday 21st February at 7pm with livestream. All are welcome.
LOVELLS INFORMATION NIGHT
Hear from our link missionaries Adrian and Anita (and Matias and Maya) Lovell on Thursday 16th February 7:30pm at Oak Flats Anglican. A great opportunity to hear about our partnership and to pray and support them in their ministry.
YOUTH GROUP IS BACK
We kick off at 7pm this Friday 3rd February.
MORNING PRAYER
Join us at 7 am every day (except Sunday) at zoom.jamberooanglican.com as we gather to read the Bible, pray, and encourage each other as the new day dawns.
DECEMBER & JANUARY BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘Enjoying God’ By Tim Chester.
We believe in God, we serve God, we trust God, but would we say that we enjoy God on a day to day basis?
What exactly does a personal relationship with God look like, and how is it even possible?
Tim Chester shows us how we can enjoy God in every moment of every day, whether we are experiencing good times or hard times; whether we are changing diapers, or stuck on a train. He explores how the Father, the Son and the Spirit relate to us in our day-to-day lives, and how to respond.
We have physical copies available for purchase over in the church hall. However, if you wish to order your own copy online or read via Kindle, you can do that here.
GIVING UPDATE
Each week we need to receive $6300.00 in order to meet our commitments. Last month, our average weekly giving was $5675.00, leaving a gap of $625.00. Up to the end of the last calendar month we needed to have received $273,000. Compared to that total we received $245,588, leaving a gap of $27,412.
Electronic giving is a great way to give! It helps us prayerfully plan our giving, and then the bank will help us keep that commitment, even when we may be unable to attend. To give by direct transfer then these are the NEW details. Account name: Jamberoo Anglican Church. Account number: 356831. BSB: 032605.
