And makes the nations prove

BIBLE READING: Luke 2:8-14

8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Saviour—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognise him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,

14“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH

1. Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

2. Oh shepherds why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heavenly song?
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

3. Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord the newborn King
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

BIBLE READING – Luke 2:15-20

15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. 20 The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.

SILENT NIGHT

1. Silent night holy night
All is calm all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

2. Silent night holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heav’nly hosts sing alleluia
Christ the Saviour is born
Christ the Saviour is born

3. Silent night holy night
Son of God love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus Lord at Thy birth
Jesus Lord at Thy birth

4. Silent night holy night
Wondrous star lend thy light
With the angels let us sing
Alleluia to our King
Christ the Saviour is born
Christ the Saviour is born

THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS GIFT

Whatta you want to get this year for Christmas?
What do you want beneath that Christmas tree?
What do you want stuffed in that Christmas stocking?
What’s the greatest Christmas gift that there could be?

1. Is it a smart phone?
Or maybe a flying drone?
Or nice new clothes and matching pairs of shoes?
Is it a new pet?
Some sort of sports set?
Or something you’ve been wishing for
And dreaming of all year?

Whatta you want to get this year for Christmas?
What do you want beneath that Christmas tree?
What do you want stuffed in that Christmas stocking?
What’s the greatest Christmas gift that there could be?

2. Well is it a bike to ride?
Some sort of super slide?
Or something that you like that’s really cool?
One of those action toys?
Does it make a lot of noise?
Have you made yourself a little list
And checked it once or twice?

Whatta you want to get this year for Christmas?
What do you want beneath that Christmas tree?
What do you want stuffed in that Christmas stocking?
What’s the greatest Christmas gift that there could be?

3. What if God gave us
A King to save us
And forgave us for all our sin and greed
Well that’s what he’s done
By sending his own son
For unto us a child is born to us a son is given

Jesus is the greatest gift at Christmas
You won’t find him underneath that Christmas tree
Cos most of all our sinners need a saviour
Come see the greatest Christmas gift
Look to Jesus Christ and live,
Jesus is the greatest gift that there could ever be.

CHRIST THE KING OF CHRISTMAS

Let your love show ho ho
Let your faith grow ho ho
That everyone will know
Christ the King of Christmas

1. Let the Christmas tree remind you
Of the one who trusts the Lord
Who walks the path of godliness
And loves to hear God’s word
Pray that as you grow up
That’s just how you will be
Standing tall for Jesus
Like the Christmas tree

Let your love show ho ho
Let your faith grow ho ho
That everyone will know
Christ the King of Christmas

2. Well let the fairy lights remind you
Of that bright and shining star
Spotted by the wise men
Who travelled from afar
They gave Jesus all their treasures
And then they worshiped Him that night
Let your worship of King Jesus
Shine like fairy lights

Let your love show ho ho
Let your faith grow ho ho
That everyone will know
Christ the King of Christmas

3. Well let the candy cane remind you
Of God’s amazing grace
Red the blood of Jesus
As He suffered in our place
White the full forgiveness
Won as Jesus rose again
You can tell your friends the gospel
With a candy cane

Let your love show ho ho
Let your faith grow ho ho
That everyone will know
Christ the King of Christmas

4. Well let all the gifts at Christmas time
Fill your heart with praise
To God for all His goodness
Shown in O so many ways
That everyday in everyway
We’d be completely His
Give your life to Jesus
As a Christmas gift

Let your love show ho ho
Let your faith grow ho ho
That everyone will know
Christ the King of Christmas

BIBLE READING – 1 John 4:9-10, 14-16

9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

14 Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. 16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

O HOLY NIGHT

1. O holy night the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Saviour’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
‘Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees
O hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born

2. Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains He shall break
For the slave is our brother
And in His Name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy Name

Christ is the Lord
O praise His Name forever
His power and glory
Evermore, evermore proclaim
His power and glory
Evermore, evermore proclaim

Fall on your knees
O hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine
O night O night divine

BIBLE READING – Matthew 11:28-30

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

O COME ALL YOU UNFAITHFUL

1. O come all you unfaithful
Come weak and unstable
Come know you are not alone

2. O come barren and waiting ones
Weary of praying
Come see what your God has done

Christ is born Christ is born
Christ is born for you

3. O come bitter and broken
Come with fears unspoken
Come taste of His perfect love

4. O come guilty and hiding ones
There is no need to run
See what your God has done

Christ is born Christ is born
Christ is born for you

He’s the Lamb who was given slain for our pardon
His promise is peace for those who believe
He’s the Lamb who was given slain for our pardon
His promise is peace for those who believe

5. So come though you have nothing
Come He is the offering
Come see what your God has done

Christ is born Christ is born
Christ is born for you
Christ is born Christ is born
Christ is born for you

JESUS SAVES

1. The world belongs to God
He spoke and there it was
Though it was very good
It all went bad because
The man that God had made
And the woman there with him
Turned their back on God to get
A deadly taste of sin (But)

Jesus saves Jesus saves
Jesus is the Way
Jesus is the Saviour
You can come to Him today hey
Jesus saves Jesus saves
People from their sin
You will find forgiveness
When you put your trust in Him

2. Well if you look around
You’ll see how sin has spread
Turning light to dark
And living things to dead
But God still rules the world
He always had a plan
To send His Son to save us
In the likeness of a man

Jesus saves Jesus saves
Jesus is the Way
Jesus is the Saviour
You can come to Him today hey
Jesus saves Jesus saves
People from their sin
You will find forgiveness
When you put your trust in Him

3. Well if you come to God
(You still have time you know)
He’ll wash your sinful heart
And make it white as snow
Come taste eternal life
And death will have no sting
All who trust in Jesus are
The children of the King

Jesus saves Jesus saves
Jesus is the Way
Jesus is the Saviour
You can come to Him today hey
Jesus saves Jesus saves
People from their sin
You will find forgiveness
When you put your trust in Him
