Christmas Is Coming!

Lights and decorations are beginning to appear around our village. Christmas carols can be heard in shopping centres, sales are ramping up and the summer of test cricket has begun. Christmas must be near.

With under 5 weeks to go there’s all sorts of preparation and planning to be done. With that in mind, I wanted to let you know the key things in our church Calendar over the coming Christmas season.

1. Jamberoo Public School Assembly

This Thursday, 27th November, at 2pm, is the end-of-year assembly for Scripture. It’s a great opportunity for the SRE children to come into our church building and hear the true story of Christmas. Please be praying for this Assembly.

2. Community Carols

The Jmaberoo community carols will be held on Tuesday 9th December in Reid Park from 6:30pm (BBQ from 6:00pm). This is a great opportunity to mix with our village and valley as they come together, bringing the hope and joy in our interactions and conversations. Hugo McNeill will be leading a song and carol, and Ron will have an opportunity to give a Christmas blessing at the end of the evening.

3. Kids Christmas Club

On Monday 22nd December we will be holding the Christmas kids club. Pray for Rach and Deb and all the leaders involved! And pray that children who come will know more of the love of Christ for them, strengthening their faith or  coming to faith in Jesus

4. Christmas Eve – Churchill Carols

I’m really looking forward to our carols. We will be gathering from 5pm, and we hope to be joined by many as we have the opportunity to proclaim the Christmas message clearly and boldly. Pray for Brad as he speaks; Matt, the band and tech team; for Karen as she organises logistics and for all who will serve

5. Christmas Day

Our Christmas morning service is at 9 am. Pray for Ron as he prepares to speak and for all who come that don’t normally attend our church. Pray they’ll be warmly welcomed and challenged by the message of peace that comes in the birth of Jesus.

6. Sunday 28th December

With all the Christmas events and movements we have decided to have one service on Sunday 28th December, at 9 am. The service will be led by the Summer Life team, with one of their team members delivering the sermon. It will be a great opportunity for us to gather as one big family, to connect with Summer Life crew and then to be able to support them as they mission in our region this Christmas season .

In Grace and Truth,

Ron
