GIVING UPDATE

During May we fell a bit short in our giving, but we understand that the challenges of not gathering in our building have made it hard for some of you to get your financial gifts to us for our ministry here in our village, valley and beyond. This weekend we’ll have a way for you to bring financial gifts along to our church building during our services, if you’ve not been able to organise direct giving.

Each week we need to receive $6300.00 in order to meet our commitments. In the last calendar month, our average weekly giving was $5882.00, leaving a gap of $418.00. Olimometer 2.52 Up to the end of the last calendar month we needed to have received $245,700. Compared to that total we received $221,466, leaving a gap of $24,234.Olimometer 2.52

Electronic giving is a great way to give! It helps us prayerfully plan our giving, and then the bank will help us keep that commitment, even when we may be unable to attend. To give by direct transfer then these are the details. Account name: Church of England Jamberoo. Account number: 10081274. BSB: 062562.

Connecting through live-streaming

One of the surprise outcomes of the COVID-19 restrictions has been the great number of people who have tuned in to join us via Facebook Live.

Not only has this technology helped our regular members gather for church, but it’s also been a wonderful way to include friends and neighbours from our village, valley and way beyond into our services.

For this reason, our Archbishop has encouraged our churches to continue live-streaming into the future so that we can keep this terrific form of community engagement going for good.

So, we will continue to stream our services to Facebook Live, especially during the time of COVID-19 restrictions, so that we can carry out our Covid-Safe plan which provides unwell and higher-risk people with the option of staying home without missing out.

Our prayer is that everyone who is able to safely attend will come and be with us in person, but this technology means we can have a safe and inclusive environment for everyone to connect with our services via video broadcasts.

Our video cameras are located at our all-new tech area at the back of the church, but from this weekend we will not be having any ultra-wide angle shots of the whole inside of the building, so that people can attend without any concern about being filmed.

If you need or would like to avoid being filmed for livestream, then please sit on the left (carpark) side of the church and avoid the front four rows. If you sit in the seats on the right side then you might find the back of your head filmed from time to time when you stand up, but it won’t get in the way of the shot.

We’re praying that the new technology will help us continue to connect our church with the world through Facebook Live, whilst also maintaining a place where we can gather in person, without worrying about about video cameras, if that is a concern to you.

Coming up this weekend 6-7 June

OUR DOORS ARE OPEN THIS WEEKEND TO THE PUBLIC!

Yes, this Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9am we’re welcoming people through our doors, so please come and join us in person. We can only take 50 people on our site, but that’s plenty for our morning service, and should be right for Saturday night.*

However we’re still going to run our full service in glorious livestream at Facebook Live, so if you’d rather stay home for now, then simply head to watch.jamberooanglican.com.

We’ll also be running our youth group at 7.30pm on Saturday face to face in the hall… which is pretty exciting!

During the service, Jodie will be opening up chapters 17-20 of Revelation as we see the awesome defeat of evil. A Bible talk not to be missed!

If you have any questions about our current Revelation series or Christianity in general, simply email us at office@jamberooanglican.com or send an SMS to 0439 890 086 and Jodie would love to answer them this weekend during our services.

*if more people show up than the official 50-person limit, then priority will be given to visitors. We’ll have a few regular members all ready to leave the site and pop home to watch on the livestream, and/or join us in the morning when we’ll probably have a few extra seats. It’s all good… we’re COVID-safe!
